6th STERNGLAS Birthday

The new Sternglas Jubilee Edition: The limited Hamburg Automatic Edition Bronze

A watch brand of his own - that was the dream that inspired our founder Dustin Fontaine to create Sternglas six years ago. It all started as a one-man company with many hopes, from which our first small team gradually evolved. Who would have thought that our young start-up, which at that time had only one design, would one day become a reputable brand for affordable and high-quality timepieces? After years of hard work and major challenges, a genuine sense of achievement! That's why we want to celebrate our birthday properly and introduce a long-awaited model on the occasion of our sixth birthday: The limited Hamburg Automatik Edition Bronze.

Last year sold out within a very short time!

The Hamburg Edition Bronze was already a resounding success as a quartz model and was completely sold out within a very short time. With its bronze-colored case, which resembles ship's propellers, and the noble green satin-finished dial, it has already convinced many STERNGLAS friends. And as so often when a quartz model was well received, the Sternglas community askes: "Is this design also available as an automatic model?". Once again, we can now proudly say: Yes, it is available! But we have given the automatic version some new tweaks in the design, which makes it absolutely distinctive.

A special engraving with a famous building in Hamburg: "Wasserschloss"

Like the silver automatic version of this model, this limited edition of 999 pieces impresses with a filigree edition engraving: the motif of the Hamburg Wasserschloss (translated as "water castle"). This historic building, built at the beginning of the 20th century, is located on a peninsula between two canals in the heart of the Speicherstadt and served as the accommodation of the so-called winch guards (German: Windenwächter) for a long time: dockers who were responsible for the maintenance of the storage winches. The "Wasserschloss", also known fondly as the "Wasserschlösschen", was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2015 and has been fully restored today.

Reliable Miyota 8215 automatic movement

Inside the distinctive 42mm case is a mechanical three-hand movement by the Japanese manufacturer Miyota, which is known for its reliability and accuracy and brings a maximum power reserve of 42 hours. Together with the bronze-colored case and the noble green dial, the result is a fine vintage look inspired by the design of maritime measuring instruments and represents our relationship with our hometown of HamburgThe domed sapphire glass is also known for its high scratch resistance, making the watch a timepiece for all occasions.

Thank you for being a part of STERNGLAS!

This model is a tribute to our home in the north and expresses the gratitude we feel as we enter the seventh year of Sternglas history together. Thanks to the vivid exchange with our watch fans and STERNGLAS community, we have been able to keep improving and are still doing so. Thank you for staying with us for the sixth year and for inspiring us again and again! You show us what is important about a good timepiece and always show us the right perspective. The realization of the Hamburg Automatic Edition Bronze was thanks to you, and we sincerely hope that we can inspire you again with this model!
