The Naos Edition Bauhaus

Our classic designed in the Bauhaus style with a 38 mm case diameter.

The flat case is made of 316L polished stainless steel and guarantees a particularly sophisticated look. The minimalist design enables the watch to be the perfect companion for the office and the daily life.

Inside, a durable quartz movement caliber 714 of the Swiss traditional manufacturer Ronda runs with a precision of -10 to +20 seconds per month.

We only use the best watch glass in the world for our watches. Curved sapphire crystal, of course double anti-reflective and scratch-resistant. So you are well equipped with the Naos even in your leisure time. A watch for all occasions.

The indices of the Naos are arranged in a star shape, at least at second glance. Our timeless model embodies Sternglas like no other. It seems only logical that the Naos was named after a star.

Straps

Our leather straps are handmade in Germany.

The straps can be changed within a few seconds, completely without tools. So you can save yourself the annoying fiddling with a miniature screwdriver. Practical, isn't it?

Watch and strap can be combined as you wish. So you are sure to find the right combination for every occasion and every outfit.

About the Naos Edition Bauhaus. Sternglas founder and designer Dustin Fontaine explains.

What does the Bauhaus design mean to you as the founder of Sternglas?

The aesthetic principle of the Bauhaus has always fascinated me. A simple and reduced, geometric stylistic idiom. A reserved colourfulness. Long-lasting materials. High-quality workmanship. Demanding without frills. For me, “Bauhaus” is more than just a style. It is a way of thinking. The fundamental idea of the Bauhaus “Good design for everyone” has ever since been our guiding theme. Up to this date, I don't understand luxury brands that demand thousands of euros for a watch. Particularly Bauhaus products are often extremely expensive, which is actually contractionary to the very basic idea of this doctrine. We think that is sad. We don't want to merely copy the style of this institution of the twenties but rather to continue this social attitude. That is the reason we have made it our responsibility to offer timekeepers with the highest standards of quality for a fair price. We don't see ourselves as a luxury brand but as a quality brand. Because our timekeepers don't belong in a safe but instead on the wrist."

What was your inspiration to the Naos Bauhaus Edition?

For me, the Bauhaus is characterized especially by its stringent alignment and strong contrasts. That is what symbolises the timelessness of the twenties. Originating from the abstract logo of the Bauhaus with its pure white and black shades I created the Bauhaus edition of our Naos which by now became one of our classics. Our special edition limited to 250 pieces receives that certain something from the little raise of the outer part of the dial, which is called Rehaut in the specialist´s jargon."
