Simplicity and technical sophistication in harmony

Already with the previous model - the Kanton 1.0 - we achieved new standards of craftsmanship in the field of automatic watches. Now the popular Kanton is back and better than ever.

At first glance, it appears as a simple, classic Bauhaus-style watch that is timeless and a feast for the eyes on any occasion. On closer inspection, the Kanton 2.0 unfolds a veritable wealth of design and craftsmanship subtleties that make the heart of every watch lover beat faster.

Equipped with the SW200 movement in the Elaboré quality grade from the manufacturer Sellita, the Kanton 2.0 maintains an incomparable precision. With a case height of only 10 millimetres, it slides easily under any shirt sleeve.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire glass.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Swiss tradition from movement to assembly

On the edge of Switzerland, near the French border, lies the small community of Le Locle. Here, where traditional Swiss watchmaking began, experienced watchmakers manufacture our top-class movement, bringing all their expertise to bear.

In addition to the manufacture of the movements, the assembly also takes place in Switzerland. Only the highest quality materials have been carefully selected to come together in this piece of fine craftsmanship to accompany its wearer for a lifetime.

Selected high-end materials: resistant and comfortable

The timepiece is attached to a strap made of Italian full-grain cowhide leather, which is available in brown and black. It can be changed within a few seconds without tools and guarantees maximum wearing comfort with long durability.

The silver satin-finish dial is perfectly visible through the double anti-reflective, domed sapphire crystal, which also impresses with its extreme scratch resistance. Black Luminova needle hands and luminous dots on the dial ensure excellent readability even in the dark.

The Swiss Made Kanton 2.0 comes in a high-quality watch box.

What our customers say about us

Why we make Bauhaus watches?

In your search for a classic and durable watch, you are faced with 2 alternatives today:

1. you can buy a watch from a luxury manufacturer for a very high price, or
2. a watch from a trendy brand whose quality is as short-lived as the trend that made the brand popular.

Moin! I'm Dustin Fontaine, Founder of STERNGLAS...

When I worked in a watch manufactory during my school days and was looking for a watch for myself, I realised that there would have to be a 3rd alternative.

3. Since 2016, we have been breaking new ground and developing timeless Bauhaus-style watches that will outlive trends and continue to give pleasure for many years to come. And all that at a fair price.

In the meantime, over 53,000 watch lovers are convinced of our mission and our watch design has received several awards.

Find out what makes our timepieces so special by reading on.

Technical precision at the highest level

Equipped with the SW200 movement from the manufacturer Sellita in the Elaboré quality grade, the Kanton 2.0 has a maximum power reserve of 38 hours at 28,800 vibrations per hour. Thanks to the hacking function, your timepiece can be adjusted to the second.

The movement with a gold-engraved rotor can be examined through the sapphire crystal case back.

High quality strap made from Italian leather

The classic cowhide leather strap with decorative stitching sets the scene perfectly for this premium Swiss timepiece.

The leather strap comes from a Bavarian manufacturer. To preserve the natural feel of the leather, we work primarily with tanned rather than lacquered straps. This complex tanning process makes each leather strap a unique handcrafted piece.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

The Kanton in the press

"The movement also cuts a fine figure visually thanks to the refined rotor with gold-plated star-glass engraving as well as Geneva stripes. Geneva stripes are an ornamental shuttle created by running a slightly angled rotating grinding wheel along the workpiece in parallel lines."

Any questions left?

Can I order the watch with a different strap?

We will be happy to check whether we can realise your desired combination. Please contact us by e-mail at support@sternglas.com and we will help you personally.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.

Did you know that... ?

... the Swiss identifier CH stands for "Confoederatio Helvetica"? This is the official Latin name of the Swiss Confederation. The name was introduced after the creation of the federal state. In order not to favour any of the four official languages, the country code of Switzerland is therefore CH.
