The Modesto Automatik Edition Bronze is a strictly limited special edition and is available exclusively with a personal access code. Each timepiece is individually numbered and delivered with a certificate of authenticity.

Inspired by historic marine chronometers, it combines precise mechanics with functional design and honest materials. A watch for those who value reliability, clarity, and lasting substance.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

The Modesto Automatik Edition Bronze is a tribute to the era of marine chronometers, instruments that once decided between life and death at sea.

Like its historic predecessors, it stands for absolute reliability, technical refinement, and the beauty of functional design.

Its satin finished silver dial recalls the brushed surfaces of nautical measuring instruments, while the bronze toned PVD case picks up the warm character of aged maritime equipment. Resistant to sweat and wear, made to carry the marks of time.

Automatic Movement with up to 60-Hour Power Reserve

The upgraded Miyota 8315 automatic movement gives the Lumatik even more endurance. It boasts a significantly longer power reserve of up to 60 hours compared to the Miyota 8215's 42 hours.

This means you can set aside your timepiece for two days without it stopping and needing a reset. This is quite convenient if you want to switch to another STERNGLAS model. Your Lumatik will then be waiting for you for the next everyday adventure.

A sign of attention to detail is the blued screws, often found in luxury watches as an elegant and decorative element. Bluing is a traditional process where the screws are heated to produce the characteristic blue color. This durable timepiece requires no batteries and operates with the movement of your wrist. Moreover, it's water-resistant up to 5 ATM.

The screw down exhibition case back reveals the heart of the new special edition. Here as well, we listened to the STERNGLAS community’s request for more power.

The upgraded Miyota 8315 automatic movement, with an extended power reserve of up to 60 hours, Geneva stripes on the automatic bridge, and a skeletonized rotor, delivers outstanding performance and precision. The blued screws, a signature feature of high end luxury watches, are also found in the Modesto Automatik Edition Bronze.

Distinctive and robust. Authentic vintage look with fine patina.

This interchangeable band made of Italian vintage leather impresses with its distinctive cut edge and two-tone 'pull-up effect'. External influences cause the leather to age over time, creating the unique vintage look.

As with all STERNGLAS timepieces, the Lumatik can be customized to suit individual taste and occasion – whether sporty, elegant, or classic: The innovative quick-change system allows for the strap to be swapped out in just a few simple steps.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

Can I order the watch with a different strap?

We will be happy to check whether we can realise your desired combination. Please contact us by e-mail at support@sternglas.com and we will help you personally.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.

You can have your watch serviced directly by our watch service or by one of our specialist retail partners in your area.
