About 60 miles from Hamburg, Germany, Neuwerk lies in the middle of the Wadden Sea. Wind, water, and ever-changing light shape this small island, which, despite its remote location, has been closely connected to Hamburg for centuries.

The Hamburg Automatic Edition Neuwerk 2.0 translates this special connection into a mechanical timepiece with maritime character. Storm gray, luminous orange, and carefully placed red accents evoke the rugged coastal landscape. Inside, an automatic movement is at work, with its mechanics visible through the exhibition case back. A specially designed rotor inspired by a ship’s wheel brings the connection to seafaring to life down to the smallest detail.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

Maritime Details. Mechanical Character.

The satin-finished dial in storm gray captures the rugged atmosphere of the island of Neuwerk. Luminous orange creates striking contrasts, while silver and turquoise needle-shaped hands complement the edition’s maritime color palette.

Red details add carefully placed accents and give the dial additional depth. The combination of clean design, luminous elements, and mechanical movement brings together the functional character of the Hamburg Automatic with the distinctive atmosphere of Neuwerk. Double-domed, double anti-reflective sapphire crystal protects the dial.

From Seafaring to the Movement.

The exhibition case back of the Hamburg Automatic Edition Neuwerk 2.0 reveals the mechanical movement inside. At its center is a gray rotor designed exclusively for the edition and inspired by a ship’s wheel.

Its shape reflects the edition’s maritime story and the centuries-old importance of navigation and orientation around Neuwerk. With every movement of your wrist, the rotor comes to life, offering a direct view of the mechanics that power the watch.

Miyota 8215 Automatic Movement with Date Function

Inside, the proven Miyota 8215 automatic movement powers the watch. The movement of your wrist automatically winds the mechanical movement and keeps it reliably powered.

The exhibition case back reveals the mechanics inside. A particular highlight is the specially designed gray rotor inspired by a ship’s wheel. Its shape draws on the theme of navigation, connecting the movement of the mechanism with the edition’s maritime story.

Character in Every Detail.

The black vintage strap made from cowhide leather picks up the edition’s distinctive red details. Contrasting red stitching carries the dial’s color palette onto the wrist, creating a cohesive look between the watch and strap.

Thanks to its characteristic pull-up effect, the leather develops a unique patina over time. The quick-release system allows you to change the strap in seconds without any tools.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.
