With the Naos Pro GMT Automatic, STERNGLAS takes its iconic Bauhaus timepiece to the next level – technically, functionally, and aesthetically. Based on the popular Naos Pro Automatic, the new GMT version enhances this elegant watch with one of the most useful complications for modern travelers: a genuine True GMT function.

Worry-free thanks to sapphire crystal

We only use sapphire crystal for our timepieces. This type of watch glass is usually found in the luxury watch market.

For a perfect view of the dial, we apply a double anti-reflective coating to the sapphire crystal.

What exactly is sapphire crystal?

Sapphire is the third hardest transparent material in the world - after diamond and moissanite.

Curved sapphire crystal not only looks good, it makes the durable watch crystal even more resistant.

This makes it virtually impossible for your sapphire crystal watch to get scratched in everyday life.

The Miyota 9075 is one of the few affordable movements with a true GMT function.

Until just a few years ago this feature was almost exclusively found in high-end luxury watches, often starting at prices of $2,500 or more. With the launch of the 9075 in 2022, Miyota sparked a true revolution: genuine True GMT functionality for well under $1,500.

What does GMT actually mean?

GMT stands for “Greenwich Mean Time,” the mean solar time at the Prime Meridian, which runs through Greenwich near London. In 1884, it was established as the global time reference during the International Meridian Conference. The aim was to standardize international train schedules, navigation, and global communication.

In the world of watches, GMT refers to the ability to display a second time zone. This is made possible by an additional hand, the GMT hand, which completes one full rotation every 24 hours and points to a separate 24-hour scale. It allows you to keep track of a second local time, whether in New York, Tokyo, or Cape Town.

Global Timekeeping, Made Simple: The Miyota 9075

At the heart of the Naos Pro GMT ticks the groundbreaking Miyota 9075 caliber, a mechanical automatic movement with true GMT functionality. Unlike conventional GMT watches, it allows the local hour hand to be adjusted independently in one-hour increments – ideal for effortless time zone changes while traveling.

Made in Japan by Miyota, the 9075 combines precision, durability, and a sleek profile of just 4.92 mm. It beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour, features 24 jewels, hacking, hand-winding, and delivers up to 42 hours of power reserve.

Each timepiece is carefully regulated and tested after assembly in our workshop.

Elegant leather strap or striking link bracelet?

The Bridle leather strap comes from a Bavarian manufacturing company.

The English bridle leather is used in equestrian sports, as a bridle and in the saddle, and is therefore characterized by its particular resistance and robustness. The decorative stitching picks up on the colors of the timepiece and completes the rounded overall look.

The solid 316L stainless steel link bracelet with polished and brushed links echoes the case finish of the timepiece and completes the rounded overall look.

Easy strap change without tools

Thanks to the quick-change system, you can give your timepiece a new look in just 10 seconds:

1 — Slide the pin of the spring bar inwards.

2 — Pull the strap off the watch.

3 — Put on a new strap by sliding the pin inwards again and inserting the spring bar one after the other into the holes in the case.

How is the movement maintained?

We recommend that you have your watch serviced every 3-5 years if it is used daily.

Since there are oils and resins in the watch that can dry out over time, they should be replaced regularly, otherwise mechanical abrasion or bearing damage can occur in the movement. Seals should be checked every 5 years and replaced if necessary, crown and barrel every ten years. This ensures that you will enjoy your mechanical watch for a long time.
